Kayla Carvalho

Miss Kayla has 25 years of dance experience and 13 years of competitive dance experience. She joined Allegro in the summer of 2010 which makes this her 14th season at the studio! This is her 10th season on faculty and 3rd season as the Allegro Company Director. Miss Kayla continues to train and study dance at various conventions, workshops, and seminars to deepen her knowledge of the athletic art.

As a student, Miss Kayla attended many competitions and conventions across the country earning multiple awards, scholarships, and regional titles. And now,  as an instructor/choreographer, she has earned multiple high scoring choreography awards. She was a part of the Tremaine Performance Company for two years where she spent those years traveling across the nation to cities including Boston, NYC, L.A., Orlando, Washington, D.C, and more! As part of this Performance Company she assisted top choreographers in the industry and performed in their closing shows alongside them!

Miss Kayla also trained in Boston for two years as an apprentice on the Urbanity Dance Company and performed in multiple shows throughout the city with them. Another dance training highlight for Miss Kayla is when she was accepted and attended the Radio City Rockettes Summer Intensive in NYC where she took classes with them at Radio City Music Hall and performed in a show choreographed by the Rockettes at the end of the Intensive. She trained with New England Dance Ensemble for many years performing in their Nutcracker earning multiple roles including her favorite, Dew Drop Fairy! One of her favorite memories during these years with NEDE is when she performed alongside Misty Copeland! Some other highlights include dancing on HGTV’s Spontaneous Construction, assisting at Spirit of Dance & Step Up 2 Dance Nationals, dancing in a promotional video for Step Up 2 Dance Competition, working and judging for Step Up 2 Dance Competitions, and dancing in Disney World!

Kayla is also so excited to be in the process of illustrating her very first Children’s Book authored by Miss Sandi Duncan!
